Parkland Library offering Touch-a-Truck event on Sept. 29

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township, is having a Touch-a-Truck event 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 29 at the circle in front of the township building.

There will be diggers, police cars, an ambulance and more to explore inside and out. No registration is required.

The library is offering fall family storytimes 10:30-11 a.m. Oct. 3 for children 18 months to 3 years.

There will be stories, songs and games for the whole family to share. Younger and older siblings may attend. An adult must stay with the children.

Seating is limited, so registration is required.

Fall preschool storytimes for children between the ages of 3 and 5 will be 1-1:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the library.

There will be stories, songs, games and crafts for all preschoolers.

Parents must stay in the library, but do not have to attend storytime with the children.

Upper Macungie Township is offering volleyball 8-10 p.m. every Tuesday through Feb. 26, 2013, in the gym at Fogelsville Elementary School, 312 S. Route 100, Breinigsville.

There is no fee to play. All equipment is provided.

All ability levels are welcome to participate.

Lehigh County is having an electronic collection day 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sept. 22 at Lehigh Carbon Community College, 4525 Education Park Drive, Schnecksville.

All types of electronics will be accepted free of charge, including computers, monitors, printers, air-conditioners, computer accessories and household appliances.

In addition to individuals and families, small businesses with less than 50 employees are also welcome to bring their obsolete electronic equipment.

All material will be recycled by eForce Compliance, which maintains a zero landfill policy and zero export of hazardous e-waste to developing countries.
