Christmas Eve services offered

Zion's Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, is offering a family service 5 p.m. and candlelight service at 9 p.m. Dec. 24.

Holy Communion will be celebrated at both services.

St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown, is having a family service at 4 p.m. and festival service at 9 p.m. on Dec. 24.

There will be a Mission Response breakfast from 9:30-11 a.m. Dec. 16 at Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville.

Menu includes scrapple, corned beef hash, French toast, scrambled eggs, potatoes, orange juice, coffee and tea.

Donations will help with Mission Response expenses.

Ziegels Mission Team will wrap gifts at 10 a.m. Dec. 16 at the Allentown Rescue Mission.

The Learning Ministries Committee will be hosting a baby shower for Jesus 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Dec. 22.

All children and youth are invited to watch a Christmas movie, enjoy brunch and make a craft.

There is a per child fee.

Bring small baby blankets, bottles, rattles, diapers, etc. which will be given to the Sixth Street Shelter, Allentown.

Proceeds benefit the confirmation program.

Ziegels Union Church will be holding a birthday party for Jesus during the Sunday School hour Dec. 23.

Afterward, everyone is invited to have some birthday cake.

The church will be having an interactive service at 4 p.m., a family service at 7 p.m. and two traditional candlelight services at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dec. 24.

Holy Communion will be offered at all services.

Ziegels' Christmas Day Worship service will be 9 a.m. Dec. 25.

St Paul's United Church of Christ, 1249 Trexlertown Road, Trex-lertown, is offering a blue Christmas service of mediation and light 7 p.m. Dec. 21 for people who are experiencing a difficult time of year.

Christmas Eve services are being offered 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

A special children's sermon will be presented during the afternoon services.

The evening services will include choral, organ, trumpets and timpani music, with all bell choirs.


Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township, is having a Daddy and Me storytime for children ages 2-5 and their dads, grandfathers and uncles 10:30-11 a.m. on Dec. 15. Registration is required.

Gingerbread house building and decorating for grades four through six will take place 5-6 p.m. Dec. 18.

The library's book group Book Quest for adults will meet 7 p.m. Dec. 19 to discuss "Mighty Be Our Powers" by Leymah Gbowee.

New members are welcome.
