Upper Macungie Township offering SAT practice test Jan. 19

Good Will Fire Company No. 1, 7723 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown, will be having its monthly breakfast 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Jan. 13.

Menu includes eggs, pancakes, toast, homefries and choice of two meats: sausage, bacon, ham and/or mackerel.

The fire company's 49th annual fastnacht sale is now beginning. Pickup will be Feb. 9, 10 and 11.

The fire company needs volunteers to help with the sale.


The youth group of St. John's United Church of Christ, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, is having a pizza sale.

Orders are due 6 p.m. Jan. 13. Pickup will be 6 p.m. Jan. 22 at the church.

Upper Macungie is sponsoring an SAT practice test 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at Independent Park Community Center, 150 Independent Road, Breinigsville.

Bring two sharpened No. 2 pencils and a calculator. Deadline to register is Jan. 14.

Parents and students are also invited to pickup the test results and attend a college admissions seminar 6-7 p.m. on Jan. 29.

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave, South Whitehall, is offering family storytimes 10:30-11 a.m. on Jan. 10, 16, 17 and 23 for children 18 months to 3 years.

There will be stories, songs and games for the whole family to share.

Younger and older siblings may attend.

An adult must stay with each child. Registration is required to attend.

Preschool storytimes for children ages 3-5 will take place 1-1:30 p.m. Jan. 10, 16, 17 and 23.

There will be stories, songs, games and crafts.

Parents must stay in the library, but do not have to attend storytime with the children. Registration is needed.

The library is offering a basic computer class 9-10 a.m. Jan. 12.

Book Quest for adults will meet 7-8:30 p.m. Jan. 16 to discuss "The Paris Wife," a novel by Paula McLain.

New members are welcome.

Jerry Waxler, therapist, teacher and author will present an introduction to memoir writing workshop 1-2:30 p.m. on Jan. 19.
