Area churches offering Ash Wednesday services

St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown, will be having Ash Wednesday services at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Feb. 13.

Zion's Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, is having its Ash Wednesday service 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13. Mid-week Lenten services will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays Feb. 20 to March 20.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, is having its Ash Wednesday services at noon and 7 p.m. with communion in the sanctuary.

A soup supper will be served at 6 p.m. in the fellowship room.

There will be Lenten soup suppers at 6 p.m. Feb. 20 and 27 in the fellowship room.

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, will be holding drop-in storytime for families with children of all different ages from 10:30-11 a.m. Feb. 8 and 15.

There will be stories, songs and games for the whole family.

The library will be offering family storytimes 10:30- 11 a.m. Feb. 7, 13, 14 and 20 for children ages 18 months to 3 years.

There will be stories, songs and games for the whole family to share.

Younger and older siblings may also attend.

An adult must stay with each child.

Preschool storytimes for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years will be held from 1-1:30 p.m. Feb. 7, 13, 14 and 20.

Parents must stay in the library, but do not have to attend storytime with the children. There will be stories, songs, games, and crafts for all children.

No registration is needed for the drop-in storytime.

Seating is limited for the family and preschool storytime, so registration is required.

Night at the Movies will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the library.

The library's book group Book Quest for adults will meet 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 20 to discuss "Charlotte and Emily: a novel of the Brontes" by Jude Morton.

New members are always welcome.

Children ages 7-11 are welcome to join the Saturday Morning Club from 11 a.m.-noon Feb. 16 for some fun and exciting activities. The theme will be Adventures in Art.
