Upper Mac police arrest Allentown man for stabbing

A 28-year-old Allentown man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed a 35-year-old woman around 3:40 a.m. on Feb. 8 while on Trexlertown Road, Upper Macungie Township.

Upper Macungie Township police say when officers arrived both Demar Campbell, of 1327 Chew St., and the woman were back in the vehicle.

Police say when the pair was questioned, they learned the woman had suffered what appeared to be a stab wound to her abdomen

Campbell was arrested for aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, possessing an instrument of a crime (a folding knife) and driving under the influence, police say.

He was arraigned and remanded to Lehigh County Prison on $40,000 bail.

The woman is recovering at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
