Albright College

Resident

on dean's List

Austin T. Marich of Kempton, sophomore, economics and international relations major and graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, has been named to the dean's list at Albright College, Reading, for academic achievement during the 2012-13 fall semester. A total of 239 Albright students attained at least a 3.75 grade point average to be named to the list.

Colgate Univ.

Local student

earns award

Amber Elizabeth Harding of Schnecksville received the dean's award for academic excellence in the spring term of their senior year at Colgate University, Hamilton, N.Y.

To be eligible for the dean's award, a Colgate student must achieve a 3.30 or higher average while enrolled in four courses.

Harding is a graduate of Moravian Academy.

At Colgate, Harding is concentrated in English.

Millersville

Local student

on dean's list

Robbie Hicks of Germansville, has been named to Millersville University of Pennsylvania's dean's list for the fall 2012 semester.

Students named to Millersville University's fall 2012 dean's list earned a semester grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher and attempted at least 12 credits of course work.

Hicks, a 2009 Northwestern Lehigh graduate, will be continuing her education in the physician assistant program.

The following students have been named to the fall 2012 semester dean's list at Alvernia University, Reading.

Jeffrey Butterweck of New Tripoli, is a senior majoring in sport management major and a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School;

Slate Kleinsmith of Kempton, is a sophomore, majoring in criminal justice and Zachary Zima of Kutztown, a senior majoring in marketing, both are graduates of Kutztown Area High School.

To be eligible for the dean's list, students must carry a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits.

Loyola

Gregory Habig, of Allentown, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, Calif.

Students named to the dean's list have completed 15 semester hours at LMU and earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better.

Additionally, a student must have completed all of his or her courses and never received an F in any course.

The following local students have achieved dean's honors, or dean's high honors for the 2012 fall semester at Connecticut College, New London, Conn.

Local residents on the list include:

Allentown: Rebecca Markson, class of 2013 has been named to the dean's honors list and Alexandra Sacher, also class of 2013 has been named to the dean's high honors list.

To qualify for dean's honors, a students must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.65.

To be recoginized on the dean's high honors, a student must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.78.

King's College

Katherine Riggleman-Thomas of Kutztown was named to the spring 2012 dean's list at Widener University School of Law, Harrisburg.

Students named to the dean's list earned a grade point average in the top 20 percent of their class and division for the semester while pursuing Juris Doctor degrees.

Moravian

Emily Strong, '15, of Coplay and Thomas Hudak, '15, of Orefield, have been named to the dean's list for the 2012-13 fall semester at Moravian College, Bethlehem.

Strong is the daughter of Dennis and Joan Strong.

Hudak is the son of Thomas and Barbara Hudak.

To be named to dean's list, a student must carry three or more course units during a fall or spring term and attain a grade point average for the term of 3.50 or higher.

Univ. of Sciences

The following local residents have been named to the fall 2012 dean's list at University of the Sciences.

Students on the list include:

Allentown: Vincent Gigliotti, Marc Luong and Sean Maydick, all doctor of pharmacy students, Teresa Melick, master of occupational therapy student;

Breinigsville: Kevin Kirsch, microbiology;

New Tripoli: Alyssa Fixl, doctor of pharmacy; and

Orefield: Surali Joshi, master of occupational therapy.

Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a "C" and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the fall of 2012.

Daniel Minnich of Laurys Station, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's College at Florham, Madison, N.J., was named to the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester.

Penn State

Cody Callahan, formerly of Orefield, has been named to the dean's list at Penn State Main Campus.

He is the son of Bryan Callahan and the late Lucia Callahan of Bethlehem.

He is a graduate of Parkland High School.
