Emmaus community shares sadness and grief

To the Editor:

The Emmaus community shares the sadness and grief triggered by the recent tragic house fire.

We support the Emmaus Fire Victims Funeral Fund in memory of the deceased victims. We extend to all the victims' families and friends, and the members of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit church community our sympathy and prayers of care and concern.

We thank and commend the firefighters of the Emmaus Fire Department and all the other first responders and neighbors for their heroic efforts to rescue the victims, and contain the damage to the former landmark Clarence Ritter Funeral Home.

Emmaus is a caring community that historically comes together in the midst of tragedy.

"We grieve, but not as those who have no hope."

The Rev. Fred S. Forester

pastor emeritus,

St. John's
