Bernard P. Spahitz, 83, of Tavares, Fla., formerly of Allentown, died March 27, 2013, in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

He was the loving companion of Jacqueline McDaniel of Fern Park, Fla., for 25 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Frank R. and Mary (Feiertag) Spahitz.

He worked for Bell Telephone for many years before retiring.

He honorably and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

In addition to his companion, he is survived by sons; Rob of San Diego, Calif., and Michael of Pahrump, Nev.; daughter, Ann Mackey of Clifton, N.J.; and three grandchildren.

His graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. April 4, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Fullerton Avenue and Mundy Land Whitehall, behind Sacred Heart Cemetery.
