North Whitehall Township names chairman, vice chairman for 2017
Organization of the North Whitehall Township Board of Supervisors for the new year was decided Jan. 3.
Ronald Heintzelman was appointed chairman and Steve Pany was selected as vice chairman.
The third member of the board is Supervisor Mark Hills.
Brenda Norder was again appointed secretary/treasurer and chief pension administration officer.
Jeff Bartlett was reappointed township manager.
Meetings continue to be 7:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month except for September when the meeting will be on the second Monday.
The Zoning Hearing Board will meet as needed on the third Wednesday of each month while the planning commission will meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
The Recreation Board meets on the third Monday of January, March, May and September.
Benchmark Engineering Services will do the planning and traffic engineering.
Keystone Consulting Engineers will be sewage projects engineers, acting zoning officer and alternate sewage enforcement officer.
Barry Isett and Associates, Keycodes Inspection Agency and Lehigh Valley Inspection Service will handle building plan reviews and building inspections.
In other appointments, Mike Basta was appointed to the zoning hearing board.
Tim Beil and Todd Kern will be on the building codes board of appeals and Steve Laudenslager will serve on that board as alternate.
Scott Bieber was appointed sewage enforcement officer.
Leonard Nuss and John Barto III will serve on the planning commission with Rich Semmel serving as first alternate and Rod Lowe as second alternate.
Ray Deutsch will be on the North Whitehall Recreation Board and, along with Bruce Stettler, on the Ironton Rail-Trail Committee.
Paul Mantz will be alternate to the committee.
Charles Horwith will be vacancy board chairman.
Donald Jacobs will serve as township fire Marshal and assistant state police fire marshal with Jim Steward as assistant to both posts.
Nelson Fogle will be emergency management director. Donald Jacobs and Brad Petrohoy will be deputy directors.
Other business covered at the meeting included the granting a time extension to review the Apple Blossom subdivision plan, adoption of the township fee schedule for services, equipment and other items; and the appointment of Kirk, Summa and Co. to do the township audit for the year 2106.
