Fair set for June 15-17

Wednesday, June 7, 2017 by The Press in Local News

The Kempton Fair, which started in 1957, is alive and well in Kempton, Berks County.

Sponsored by the Kempton Community Center, 83 Community Center Drive, the fair is set for June 15-17.

The refurbished event will bring new energy and direction, but with more of the feel of yesteryear.

There will be three evenings of tractor and truck power pulls, and drags; and popular musical talents Crazy Hearts, Scott Marshall and Marshall’s Highway, and the Hannah Violet Trio will perform.

There will also be livestock exhibitions; baking contests; fireworks; interactive attractions for the youngsters, such as Middle-earth Children’s Theater; food and much more.

Kempton’s Got Talent competition will be June 15. There is a 13-19 age group and a 20-and-above age group.

On June 16, there will be a Willie Nelson Look-Alike Contest. There will be prizes for age groups and eras.
