The North Parkland Jr. Legion baseball team won the Muhlenberg Eastern Regional defeating Newtown 3-1 in the championship game. The Buffaloes went 5-1 in the tournament, winning a double header on the final day to overcome an earlier round loss to Newtown. North Parkland won the first game of the day 6-5 to force the final and deciding game. The Buffaloes had secured their Regional playoff berth as the Lehigh Valley regular season champ with an undefeated 16-0 record. During the season, the team gave head coach Jason “Cracker” Marakovits his 100th career win in his 5th season at the helm. Marakovits served as an assistant coach with team before stepping up to the head coach position in 2013. During his 5 years, he has led the Jr. Legion squad to three Regional appearances, a Regional Championship, and one State appearance, racking up an impressive 108-41 record. The team is looking to add to that as they advance to the State Playoffs in Homer City.
