lifelong farmer

Stewart E. Bear, 89, of New Tripoli, died Oct. 5, 2017, in his home.

He and his wife Rose M. (Stuckley) Bear were married 63 years on March 15.

Born on his family farm in Weisenberg Township, he was the son of the late Edwin F. and Daisy M. (Shoemaker) Bear.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era.

A member of the Lehigh County Farmer’s Association, he was a lifelong farmer in Weisenberg Township.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Raymond E. and his wife, Dee, of Breinigsville, Randy E. at home, Robin C. Dillman and her husband, David, of Quakertown; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings Earl J., William B., Betty J. Breininger, Miriam P. Hoffman and LaRue E. Samuels.
