The Journeymen, the men’s ministry group at Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will host a chicken potpie dinner 4:30-7 p.m. Jan. 13. Snow date is Jan. 27.

The buffet-style meal will include biscuits with honey butter, pickled cabbage, macaroni and cheese, applesauce, assorted beverages and cake.

All proceeds will go toward The Journeymen’s charitable outreach ministry.

For more information, call 610-767-6884.

Union Lutheran offers midweek Holy Communion services noon every Wednesday in January.

Schnecksville Fire Company will be cooking up an all-you-can-eat breakfast 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 21 in the pavilion.

Menu includes homemade creamed chipped beef, sausage, ham, eggs any style, home fries, toast and beverages.

The main fire company building sustained major damage on June 2, 2017, when the roof collapsed.

The new roof is nearly completed and contractors are starting on interior work.

The kitchen and barroom have been redesigned, and the stage will be made handicapped accessible.

Heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems have been laid out in an improved manner.

Target date for completion of the repairs and improvements is July 1.

Everything is being updated to meet the commercial building code.

The youth group of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will be serving a suds and spuds lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 21.

Stop in for a baked potato and choose from more than 15 toppings to go on it.

Ticket includes beverages and a dessert.

Upper Lehigh Lions Club, whose motto is “We Serve,” prepared 72 boxes of cookies for distribution to clients of Meals on Wheels in December 2017.

The group had several successful fundraisers in the fall, including a refreshment stand at Parkland home football games, a basket social and hoagie sales.

Proceeds are directed to charitable endeavors.
