The “No Shave November” initiative of the Allentown Police Department and Allentown EMS recently raised $7,200 for charity, with the police department raising $6,560 over two months.

Dream Come True, Valley Youth House, Hair of the Dog Rescue, Seventh Street Neighborhood Center and the Allentown Boys and Girls Club were funding recipients based on Allentown Police Department Facebook page voting.

Members of the department took 18 children from the Sixth Street Shelter Christmas shopping, with additional funds donated to the shelter.

Funding was also allocated to help purchase a portable basketball rim for Mosser Elementary School.

Additional donations were made by Queen City FOP Lodge No. 10, Mountainville No. 30 Crime Watch, and Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin.
