Thomas H. “Oak” Hadesty, 71, of Schnecksville died Feb. 5, 2018.

He and his wife Patricia A. (Reppert) Hadesty were married 45 years last April 29.

Born Oct. 20, 1946, in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Stanley J. and Kathryn (Follweiler) Hadesty.

He was a machine operator at Packaging Corp. of America for 23 years before retiring in 1988.

A member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tamaqua, he served there as a deacon.

He was a member of the Lehigh Valley Chapter, Battle of the Bulge Association, Neffs Volunteer Fire Co. and the Laurys Station Fire Co.

He was a life member of American Hose Co. No. 1, Tamaqua.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter Michelle M. Moore and her husband, Kenneth, of Wisconsin; brothers Richard Sr., Alfred and David Hadesty, all of Tamaqua; sisters Nancy Lesisko of New Ringgold, Eleanor Hadesty of Tamaqua; grandchildren Ray, Bernie, Holly and Jeffrey; great-grandchildren, Victor and Isabelle; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings James, Donald and Raymond Hadesty, and Marie Howells.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Feb. 10 at Trinity UCC, 22 Lafayette St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. Darryl E. Kensinger and the Rev. Dr. James T. Gottwald officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 6-8 p.m. Friday in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, and noon–1 p.m. Saturday in the church.

Interment will follow the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua.
