Michael P. Regan, 68, of New Tripoli, died Feb. 3, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Gail P. (Wilson) Regan were married 45 years last September.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., he was a son of the late Jeremiah and Isabel (Grennan) Regan.

He was an electrical engineer for F.L. Smidth, Bethlehem, for 40 years.

He lived by the philosophy we are all here on earth to help one another, and he was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

His passion was animal welfare, and he used almost all his spare time, including vacation time, to further that cause. He would even rescue insects.

A kind and gentle man, many people referred to him as a gentle giant. He will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his niece Lori Gannon; nephews David Wilson and Kevin Regan; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew.

He was predeceased by a brother Kevin Regan.
