Parkland track teams sweep Whitehall

The Parkland track teams swept Whitehall last week.

The Trojan girls team won 95-55, while the boys team earned a 123-27 win with Parkland athletes taking first place in all but three boys events.

Three Trojans won two events each in the boys meet, including Salau Habeeb (100, 200), Nick Bower (1600, 3200) and Douglas Marube (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles). Other Parkland first-place finishers include Mustapha Habeeb (400), Jacob Ringer (800), Adam Klinger (high jump), Franco Perinotti (pole vault), Michael Gombos (triple jump), Jeremy Sell (shot put) and Brian Hanton (discus). Parkland also won the boys 400-meter relay and 3200-meter relay team.

In girls events, Parkland’s Shelby Staib (long jump, triple jump, discus, javelin) took first place in four events, while teammates Hali Perry (100), Madison Warminsky (400), Julianna Elsesser (800), Ava Bendetti (1600), Madison Zaun (3200), Christine Hutchinson (100 hurdles), Grace Steurer (high jump), Mikayla-Anne Woodring (shot put) won one event each.
