Firefighters train on RIT

Thursday, May 24, 2018 by LOU WHEELAND Special to The Press in Police Log

Cetronia and Greenawalds firefighters trained on Rapid Intervention Team drills April 30 at the Troxell Building, South Whitehall.

The goal of the exercise was to bring Cetronia firefighters up to speed on techniques to rescue fellow firefighters in the event of a structural collapse, flash over or any unexpected occurrence at an active fire scene.

Greenawalds firefighters have been dispatched as RIT responders throughout Lehigh County.

With the addition of Cetronia firefighters, South Whitehall Township, as well as neighboring communities, will have an additional resource to respond as needed.
