Michael R. Yenser, 70, of New Tripoli, died Oct. 6, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, after being stricken at home.

He and his wife Susan L. (Wolstenholme) Yenser were married 48 years.

Born July 22, 1948, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Richard F. and Madeline M. (Hamm) Yenser.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era.

The fiscal officer of Lehigh County Children and Youth for 32 years, he retired in 2007.

He also concurrently prepared personal tax returns for 40 years.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Heidelberg Township.

He umpired girls’ fast-pitch softball and men’s softball for many years.

He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughters Jana M. Redford and her husband, Greg, of Rothesay, N.B. Canada, Julianne E. Pennabaker of New Tripoli; sister Kathy Williams and her husband, Harrison, of Slatington; and grandchildren Jane, Lily, Evelyn and Andrea.

He was predeceased by a son, Steven Michael.
