Wednesday, November 7, 2018 by The Press in News Briefs

Girls on the Run is partnering with St. Luke’s Health Network and local athletes noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 for the Girls on the Run Power up Challenge.

The event will be presented by Jill Helmer Consulting and hosted by St. Luke’s West End, 501 Cetronia Road, South Whitehall.

Over the course of several hours, athletes will be riding bikes indoors to raise scholarship money for Girls on the Run program participants.

Beat the competition by riding the most miles in a particular time slot.

Participants are invited to wear workout clothing and a T-shirt representing the school for which they are riding.

Through sponsorships, this event raises scholarship money for girls in the Lehigh Valley to participate in the Girls on the Run program regardless of financial need.

There will be bagels, water and oranges available for participants after they are finished with their hour. There will be 5-10 minute award ceremonies from 1:50-2 p.m., 2:50-3 p.m. and 3:50-4 p.m.
