Donald R. Roth, 68, of Slatington, died unexpectedly Jan. 3, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Born Nov. 20, 1950, in Northampton, he was the son of the late Ralph J. and Marilyn E. (Peters) Roth.

He and his wife, Visitacion “Bess” (Orayan) Roth, were married 47 years in February 2018.

A graduate of Parkland High School, he served honorably as an EN3 in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Following his service, he worked in assembly at Mack Trucks in Allentown, and continued his career as a cabinet maker for the former American Kitchens and lastly, Morris Black, both of Allentown.

He was a member of the VFW Post in Macungie and in Egypt, Whitehall Township, and a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laury’s Station. He and his wife were avid bowlers and enjoyed playing pinochle. Throughout the gatherings and the consistently full house that the Roths always adored, friends and family members hold fond memories of the generosity and kindness that Donald radiated.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Darin and wife, Roxann Roth, of Baltimore, Md.; daughter Mary Ann Nomie of Allentown; grandson Darion Nomie of Harrisburg; and aunt, Roma Kemmerer, of Allentown.
