Schweyer begins third term as state representative
State Rep. Peter Schweyer began his third term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, where he will represent the people living in the 22nd Legislative District during the 2019-20 legislative session.
Schweyer’s legislative priorities include protecting and expanding access to health insurance, appropriately funding Pennsylvania’s public schools and supporting the creation of more family-sustaining jobs in the Lehigh Valley.
He supports increasing Pennsylvania’s minimum wage to help lift people out of poverty, continued criminal justice reform as well as supporting sustainable, alternative energy and a significant investment in support of our veterans.
To this end, Schweyer has begun the process of reintroducing several bills and resolutions from previous sessions that would protect health care for people suffering from pre-existing medical conditions, expanding educational opportunities for all students, conducting a study on income inequality and supporting veteran suicide prevention organizations.
