UPPER MACUNGIE TWP: Various events offered at Parkland Community Library

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Avenue, South Whitehall, will be offering baby story time with picture books, rhymes and songs at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 4 and 11 for children ages birth to 2 years old. A caregiver must attend with each child.

Preschool story time for children ages 3 to 5 is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Feb. 6, 7 and 13. A caregiver must remain in the library.

Toddler story time with stories, songs and rhymes for toddlers from 18 months to age 3 will be offered 10:30 a.m. Feb. 5, 6, 12 and 13.

The library will be showing the movie “Life Itself” during its Modern Brown Bag Classics 1 p.m. Feb. 4.

Bring lunch. Beverages will be provided.

Join Nichola Gutgold for a discussion and signing of her new book, “Just like You,” 7 p.m. Feb. 5.

The Senior Book Club will meet to discuss the novel “Everyone Brave is Forgiven” by Chris Cleave 3 p.m. Feb. 12 at Luther Crest retirement community, 800 Hausman Road, South Whitehall.

Lil Builders for kids ages 2 and older is scheduled for 11 a.m. Feb. 8.

Come play and build with the library’s collection of Magna-Tiles.

Bad Kitty story time for kids ages 3 to 7 is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 9.

Youngsters are invited to meet and have a photo taken with picture book character Bad Kitty 11 a.m. Feb. 9.

Learn how to get out of threatening situations with Todd from Todd’s Martial Art and Fitness, Catasauqua, at a basic self-defense class 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12.

The Teen Anime Club for students in grades six through 12 will meet to watch their favorite anime while munching on pocky and Japanese snacks 6:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 13.

Join the writing workshop “What’s Your Story” at 3 p.m. Feb. 13.

Learn how to write a memoir.

All these programs are free and held at the library except the senior book club.

Registration is needed to attend the movie, book club, writing workshop, preschool and Bad Kitty story times, and self-defense class.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, will welcome the boys from Pack 72 for Scout Sunday 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 10.

There will be a coffee hour after the worship and everyone is invited to attend.
