Firefighters battle third area barn fire

Laurys Station, Neffs, Lehigh Township, Whitehall-Egypt Station, Schnecksville, Tri-Clover and Allen Township volunteer firefighters were dispatched around 10:51 p.m. March 24 for a barn fire at 1352 Clearview Road, North Whitehall Township.

Laurys Station Fire Chief Robin Hood said the fire was called under control at 11:21 p.m.

North Whitehall Fire Marshal Jim Steward and State Police Fire Marshal Trooper James Welsh are investigating the fire. Northern Valley Ambulance Corps and Macungie rehabilitation emergency medical services assisted at the scene.

This is the third barn fire in the area. The first was March 15 along Cedar Drive, Lehigh Township. The second was March 23 along Fir Drive, also in Lehigh Township.
