Upper Macungie: Electronics recycling April 6

Upper Macungie Township is hosting an electronics recycling day for residents from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, April 6 at Grange Road Park, 360 Grange Road.

Items are limited to microwaves, household batteries, fluorescent lights, computers, monitors, televisions (limit three TVs or monitors).

Proof of residency will be checked. Yard waste cards will not be accepted.

The township is offering adult basketball for adults ages 21 and older 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays April 4 to June 13 at Jaindl Elementary School, 1051 Weilers Road, Breinigsville.

Pickup Pickleball is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Wednesdays, and 9 a.m. to noon Friday and Sundays at Blue Barn Park, 5770 Snowy Orchid Lane.

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, and Silver Crest Insurance, will offer a Basics of Medicare educational workshop for seniors and their family members at 10:30 a.m. on March 29.

Join Magician Craig Collis as he uses humor, magic and math to entertain and inspire kindergartners through fifth graders at a Magic of Money event 11 a.m. March 30.

Baby story time with picture books, rhymes and songs will be offered for children ages birth to age 2 at 10:30 a.m. April 1, 6 and 8. A caregiver must attend with each child.

Preschool story time for children ages 3 to 5 is scheduled for 1 p.m. April 3, 4, 10 and 11. A caregiver must remain in the library.

Toddler story time with stories, songs and rhymes for kids 18 months to age 3 will be held 10:30 a.m. April 2, 3, 9 and 10.

Adults come and use the elements around you to solve a series of puzzles, find clues and break the codes at The Vault: Adult Escape the Room 3:30 p.m. April 2.

Kids in two through fifth grade join the Lego Challenge Tinkerlab 6:30 p.m. April 4.

St. John’s UCC, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, is sponsoring an Easter and summer flower demonstration and basket social 12:30-4 p.m. April 6. Michael Grim, formerly of Fogelsville, will present his demonstration at 2 p.m.

He is the owner of Bridgehampton Florist on Long Island, N.Y. Grim is featured on Ina Garten’s Barefoot Contessa cooking show on the Food Channel.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and St. John’s UCC, both in Fogelsville, will have their annual community Easter Egg Hunt on April 13 at Upper Macungie Park, Falcon Pavilion, Route 100 N. Fogelsville. Rain date is April 20. Registration begins at 9:15 a.m.

All children from infant up to and including sixth grade are invited to participate.

Ziegels Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, in partnership with Lutheran Social Services is having a basket social on April 6. Doors will open 11 a.m. Drawings begin at 1 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Good Samaritan fund.
