Chosen Words

Wednesday, May 8, 2019 by The Press in Opinion

Home is just a building,

Stucco, brick or wood,

But home is where we need to be

For everything that’s good.

Home is windows, curtains, shutters, doors,

Hugs and kisses, love and more.

Shelter, comfort from the weather,

Home is where we get together.

Home is where you hang your hat

And where you sleep at night.

Home’s your destination,

Where you go to make things right.

Sometimes home is just a word,

We say it now and then.

Especially when we are tired,

We want to go home again.

What would we do without our home?

Wherever would we be?

To everyone who has no home,

Just come and live with me.

(well, not really, but it sounded nice).
