Janet M. Plasha, 48, from Andreas, died on April 30, 2019, in Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia.

She and her husband Bruce Plasha celebrated 19 years of marriage in April.

Born in Abington, she was a daughter of Patricia (Donahue) Fickett of Milbridge, Maine, and the late Lawrence W. Fickett Sr.

She was a 1989 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Wyncote.

She was a member of St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, Tamaqua.

A member of Andreas Sporting Club and Andreas Fire Company, she was a lifetime member of Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club.

She most recently was a cashier for the Nutrition Group at the Tamaqua Middle School.

An avid hunter, she loved the outdoors, enjoyed playing cards and volleyball, and watching her girls play basketball.

She donated a portion of her body to science for Never Smokers Lung Cancer Research.

In addition to her loving husband and mother, her survivors include daughters, Lorelei and Samantha Plasha, at home; brothers Lawrence W. Jr. and John Fickett, both of Shoemakersville; sisters, Fay, wife of Steve Kiefer, of Quakertown, Anna, wife of Bruce Felker, of Horsham, Patricia Fickett of Tuscarora; Uncle John and Aunt Linda Donahue of Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
