Allentown Flag Day Association

The City of Allentown and the Allentown Flag Day Association, along with residents and others from throughout the Lehigh Valley celebrated Flag Day, June 14, with a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall Plaza, Allentown.

The Allentown Police Department Honor Guard presented the colors at the event.

Buglers were Bob Sedlock Jr., representing Post 576 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Allentown Police Department Officer Christopher Matthews.

Master of Ceremonies for the Flag Day presentation was retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Gerald Still.

Founded in 1907, Allentown has the distinction of having America’s first Flag Day Association.
