Mildred L. Wanamaker, 96, formerly of Emerald, died July 3, 2019, in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall Township.

She was the wife of the late Edward B. Wanamaker.

Born Dec. 23, 1922, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Phoebe D. (Ketterer) Phillips.

A member of and employed by St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, Emerald, as the caretaker for 40 years, she retired in 2006.

For 28 years, she served as secretary of the missionary society at the church.

She was a former member of and volunteer for the Emerald Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Her survivors include children Edward G. and his wife, Judy, of Emerald, Douglas T. of Emerald, Sheila A. German and her husband, David, of Slatington, Scott P. and his wife, Debi, of Collegeville; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
