NORTH WHITEHALL TWP: Outdoor activities offered at Union UCC

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will have its 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 11 worship service in the grove.

Afterward, all are invited to a family picnic for fun, fellowship and food.

Free hot dogs, barbecues, chips and drinks will be provided. Bring a side dish, salad or dessert to share.

After lunch, everyone is welcome to take part in a cake walk, play bingo or join in the annual softball game.

In case of rain, the picnic will take place in fellowship hall.

The men’s group of Union UCC will have a bean bag tournament in the grove 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 14.

The event is for men and children. Teams of two will compete in a friendly round of bean bags.

Refreshments will be provided.

Neffs UCC Preschool will have Preschool in the Park 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 15 for anyone interested in having fun and learning more about the program.

Save the dates for the 16th annual Blues Nite Out on Aug. 23 and 24 in the grove.


Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will host a picnic supper 6 p.m. Aug. 21 then worship will take place outdoors at 7 p.m.

Potluck breakfast will be served 9-10 a.m. Aug. 18. All are welcome to attend.

Here is a chance to enjoy time with members and guests between the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services.


St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, is in the early planning stages for a mystery dinner theater production next spring.

A script has been selected with roles for 13 actors, both male and female.

Requirements are to learn the lines, attend rehearsals and have a good time.
