Nothstein cleared of misconduct allegations by SafeSport

Lehigh Valley Congressional candidate Marty Nothstein announced Aug. 24 in a news conference, he has been cleared of undefined sexual misconduct allegations dating back to the year 2000.

He has been exonerated by Safe-Sport, an independent nonprofit committed to ending all forms of abuse in sports. It generally only reports on its investigations when disciplinary action has been taken.

Teacher aide at Parkland High School injured in Lehigh Twp shooting

Melinda “Lyndi” Mullner, an instructional aide for Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21, who works at Parkland High School, was injured on Oct. 4 when John Michael Hann, 61, a cousin of her husband, Joseph F. Mullner, 64, allegedly killed him and shot her.

According to information provided by Parkland’s Director of Community Development and Relations Nicole McGalla, CLIU 21 sent the Flight Team to the high school on Oct. 5 to provide counseling and to handle any grief needs of students and staff.

Visiting Chinese professors share insights

Professors from China’s medical and legal professions are among those who recently wrapped up a semester at Northampton Community College. Yan “Maggie” Zhang, who teaches medicine and Ying “Sunny” Shan, a lawyer who teaches law, are from China’s prestigious Jinhua Polytechnic, one of the nation’s leading vocational colleges.

Maggie and Sunny took some time to offer their perspectives on the differences between the China and the United States.
