Election telecast with Lafayette

Lafayette College is partnering with WLVT Channel 39 to produce a live, student-run election night broadcast from the college's Farinon Center.

The PBS station will air the live show to its 2.6 million viewers in northeastern United States 9 - 11 p.m. Nov. 6.

More than 100 students from a variety of majors are working on the show, "Fifty States of Grey," which will feature up-to-the-minute information on the races for President, Senate, and House of Representatives.

Dylan Barron scored on a 20-yard pass from Michael Ruisch for North Parkland's lone touchdown. Joey Guida added the extra point.

Much like their 125-pounds counterparts the 110s weren't able to match a late score in a close loss to Lower Mac.

Food drive on Nov. 10

Boy Scouts and volunteers from the local Minsi Trails Boy Scout Council will be out Nov. 10 collecting non-perishable food for their 26th annual Scouting For Food community food drive.

Door hangers were delivered throughout many area neighborhoods Oct. 20 letting residents know about the food drive.

Donald F. Collins, 94, of Germansville, formerly of Macungie, died Oct. 21, 2012, in Phoebe Home, Allentown.

He was the husband of the late Edith (Annable) Collins.

Born April 3, 1918, in Plymouth, England, he was the son of the late Percy and Hilda (Webber) Collins.

He was the director of market research for Mack Trucks Inc., Allentown, for 30 years before retiring in 1983.

Active in the life of his church, he was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Macungie, where he formerly served as treasurer and business manager.

Lieberman honored for her volunteer service

Judith Lieberman, 92, was one of 10 people recently honored with the 2012 Governor's Citizen Crime Protection Volunteer Recognition Award during a ceremony in Harrisburg.

The Emmaus resident, a longtime advocate for senior citizens, has served on numerous boards and task forces in the Lehigh Valley.

The Citizen Crime Prevention Volunteer Awards publicly honor individuals for their outstanding contributions to community crime prevention.

Lieberman was nominated by Pennsylvania State Trooper Marc Allen of Troop M, Bethlehem.
