The South Parkland Gray Midget team recently won the Parkland Youth League Baseball Championship. The Trojans defeated Grandlawn #1 in the title game 13-12, in a game played over two nights.

Clayton O. Gilbert, 81, of Cetronia, South Whitehall, died Aug. 3, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He and his wife Eleanore J. (Miller) Gilbert celebrated their 57th wedding aniversary in April.
Born in West Penn Township, he was a son of the late Millard and Carrie (Daubenspeck) Gilbert.
He was employed by the former Lehigh Valley Dairy, Allentown, during the 1950s and early 1960s.
He later was employed in the Trust Department of the former First National Bank of Allentown, now Wells Fargo Bank, for 30 years before retiring in 1997.
Alyssa Geist of Allentown graduated from Clarion University in May earning a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology.
