Event set for Sept. 8, 9

Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society is having its Schpotyaahr Fescht (Fall Fest) noon-6 p.m. Sept. 8 and 9 at the old Zimmerman's Hotel, 4590 Werleys Corner Road, New Tripoli.

This free event will feature family fun plus a bake sale.

Apple Fest on Sept. 8

Frieden's Lutheran Church, 9727 Red Road, Stony Run, is having its annual Apple Festival Sept. 8.

Food will be served from 2-8 p.m.

The group, "Witness," will entertain 5-8 p.m. with traditional, Southern gospel and light contemporary Christian music.

The event will take place rain or shine.

Everyone is invited to worship with the Fools 4 Christ Clown Troupe at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 16 at the church. Fools 4 Christ provides the Christian message with mime.

Event set for Sept. 1

The Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley in conjunction with Islamic Education Center of Pa, Al Ahad Islamic Center and Easton Phillipsburg Muslims Association will be hosting its fifth annual Lehigh Muslim Fun Day noon-6 p.m. Sept. 1 at Lone Lane Park, Upper Macungie Township.

This event will include tournaments in soccer, cricket, volleyball, basketball and Taekwondo.

There will be a mix of family fun open to all faiths.

Teams from the Lehigh Valley area and New Jersey will compete at 10 a.m.

Am Haskalah, the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation of the Lehigh Valley, invites the community to join them for meaningful, spiritual, musical and creative Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services.

This year, the congregation is participating in the Jewish Reconstructionist Movement's Open Seats Program, which enables them to offer High Holiday Services to anyone in the Lehigh Valley who wishes to attend.

Edward W. Duffy

Edward W. Duffy, 73, of Allentown, died Aug. 23, 2012, in ManorCare, Allentown.

He and his wife, Dorothy E. (Woodhead) Duffy, would have been married 41 years in September.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edward and Anna (Farrell) Duffy.

He was a paint mixer for the former Garden State Tanning, Fleetwood.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Wanita Dieter, of Shillington.

Private interment at Jordan Lutheran Cemetery, Orefield.

Tire slashed

in N. Whitehall Twp.

State Police Troop M Bethlehem say David Joseph Baab reported a tire on his 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer was cut between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 17 and 8:45 a.m. the next day while it was parked at 2069 Barberry Drive, North Whitehall Township.

Richard Luis Cruz also reported to police a tire was cut on his 2001 BMW X5 during the same time period while it was parked in the area of 4140 Redbud Drive West, Whitehall Township.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call state police at 610-861-2026.
