Edwin J. Eckroth, 75, of Emmaus, died March 21, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife LaRue I. (Guldner) Eckroth celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last Sept. 27.

Born Dec. 13, 1937, in North Whitehall Township, he was the son of the late John W.B. Eckroth and Edna M. (Merkle) German.

He was a self-employed memorial engraver and designer for 16 years before retiring in 2006.

Prior to that, he worked at Keystone Memorial, Allentown, for 22 years.

Applications being accepted

The Allentown Music Club is offering a $1,000 Past President's Assembly scholarship to a high school senior who resides in Lehigh or Northampton counties.

The student must be accepted at an accredited institution and be pursuing music performance. Application deadline is April 10.

of plastic grass, decorated eggs,

chocolate bunnies, a candy carrot, Reese's peanut butter cups and ring pops to deliver to his Princess Tasha.

He hopped through yards of jelly bean delights with Skittles falling from the Hershey chocolate sky while his friend, Granny, helped make Skittle ice cream in a jelly bean cup and put a cherry on top with a tinge

of whipped cream.

Donna M. Ziegler, 70, of North Whitehall Township, died March 24, 2013, in her home.

Born Oct. 27, 1942, in Altoona, Blair County, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Bertha (Hurlimann) Weyandt.

She was a housekeeper for Anne L. Jaindl of Orefield since 1993.

Prior to that, she worked in the same capacity for the Josh Early family and was a cook for the rectories of Ss. Simon and Jude, and Notre Dame Roman Catholic churches, both in Bethlehem, and St. Ursula Roman Catholic Church, Fountain Hill.

She has no immediate survivors.

Citations now filed in Upper Mac fatal crash

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin has announced citations were filed March 20 against Christopher Lee, 29, of Whitehall Township, after an investigation into a fatal accident in October in Upper Macungie Township.

Martin announced on March 19 Lee did not engage in any criminal conduct that was a principal factor in causing the death of a Jordan Steinmetz, 14, who was struck by Lee's vehicle as he was trick or treating.

Upper Macungie Township police filed the citations against Lee in the office of District Judge Michael Faulkner on Wednesday.

Eye exams with ophthalmologist can save vision

The Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology reminds Pennsylvania residents a baseline eye disease screening at age 40 is critical to preserving healthy vision.

Early signs of eye disease and changes in vision may start to occur around age 40, and even those with perfect vision should be screened at that time.

People with eye disease symptoms or risk factors should also be screened.

Margaret "Millie" Von Braunsberg, 93, of Allentown, died March 19, 2013, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

She was the wife of the late Thomas C. Von Braunsberg.

Born July 18, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Agnes (Dugan) Bradley.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Allentown, where she was a member of the Prime Time Club.

She was an avid gardener and also had a flare for interior decorating.
