C.F. Martin & Co., Inc., Nazareth, largest producer of acoustic guitars in the United States, is giving away a Martin D-28 during the 29th annual Musikfest, Bethlehem.

As part of the contest, Martin Guitar is giving a private tour of the Martin Guitar Factory in Nazareth, and an opportunity to meet C.F. Martin & Co. Chairman and CEO Chris Martin IV, who will sign the brand-new D-28 guitar.

It can be said that in many respects the Bethlehem Steel Company was Bethlehem.

For decades, it was the area's largest employer. In the 1940s, 30,000 workers had jobs there. In addition, it sponsored events in the community, founded civic organizations, and provided funding for the area's educational institutions.

The Bethlehem Redevelopment Authority and City of Bethlehem are giving a sneak peek of the new Bethlehem Visitor Center at SteelStacks during Musikfest, through Aug. 12.

The interactive visitor center, which will be open for guided and self-guided tours, is featuring several exhibits that highlight the region's arts and cultural attractions, history, industrial heritage and recreational opportunities.

Lancaster County singer-songwriter Jessica Smucker has been to Allentown plenty of times, but not to perform concerts.

She almost made it to Bethlehem.

More than one year ago, she was to play at a south side Bethlehem coffeehouse, but the place closed.
