Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 is offering driver's education theory classes and behind-the-wheel training for qualified high school students in the Parkland school district.

The goal of the student driver education program is to teach young people to be safe and responsible drivers.

Forgotten Felines and Fidos animal shelter, Germansville, is hosting its 15th annual silent auction and dinner from 1-5 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center, Route 100, Fogelsville.

Doors open at 1 p.m. Buffet will be available from 2-3:30 p.m. Bidding will take place 1-4 p.m. The auction will be 4-5 p.m.

Reservations need to be made by Oct. 25. All items are new and donated by local businesses.

Beekeepers honor Lehigh County, Penn State Cooperative Extension

During a recent meeting, Lehigh Valley Beekeepers displayed their appreciation to Penn State Cooperative Extension and Lehigh County for their continued support of apiculture and local beekeepers.

District 18 Director of Penn State Cooperative Extension Richard S. Kauffman, who oversees extension offices in four area counties, participated in the meeting and met with more than 50 beekeepers from the Lehigh Valley and beyond

There is a fee for rabies and distemper vaccinations.

Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.
