As an active member of the Pennsylvania Strike Team, Cetronia Ambulance Corps provides staffing, vehicles, equipment and other resources to be utilized for major emergency and disaster response.

Following Hurricane Sandy, representatives from Cetronia and the Region II Strike Team were deployed to Atlantic, Ocean and Monmouth counties in New Jersey.

Jerry McAward will be the 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29, speaker at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center, Slatington.

He will discuss "Laughing and Learning on the Lehigh River."

McAward is an American Canoe Association instructor-trainer-educator and past chairman of ACA's River Kayak Committee.

He has degrees in physical education-exercise physiology and commercial recreation.

Cancer Society promoting Santa Calls

Bring a smile to a face of a child, when they receive a call or letter from Santa Claus.

For a donation of $7 for a call; $6 for a letter; and $10 for a combination letter and call, brighten the life of a child, while supporting a great cause.

For more than 15 years the American Cancer Society has been hosting this event in the Lehigh Valley office.

Volunteers come to the office to place the calls and also prepare the letters for mailing.
