Nearly 70 percent of Americans think it is unlikely a driver will get caught by police for driving while high on marijuana, according to a new AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety Survey.

Moreover, an estimated 14.8 million drivers report getting behind the wheel within one hour after using marijuana in the past 30 days.

The impairing effects of marijuana are usually experienced within the first one to four hours after using the drug. (1)

Outdoor service on June 30

ANNIVERSARY

Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield, will have a special outdoor service 9:15 a.m. June 30 at Lone Lane Park, 30 Lone Lane, Upper Macungie Township as part of the church’s 285th anniversary celebration.

There will be a special service, brunch, old-fashioned cake walk and entertainment by Balloons the Clown.

The Red Sand Project, an organization that brings awareness to human trafficking, will also be there.

The church has use of the park until dusk.

The Northwestern Lehigh Education Foundation recently sponsored its annual Tiger 5K and 10K runs at Ontelaunee Park with all proceeds going to benefit the school district.

The money goes to the mini grants teachers receive for materials that are not in the school budget.

The average amount garnered from the runs is $10,000.

Each registrant received a shirt: green for 10K runners and yellow for 5K runners. The 10K runners cover the same route as the 5K but go around twice...

Upper Macungie Township, along with Schmoyer, Trexler and J.S Burkholder funeral homes, will host the Breinigsville Independence Day fireworks spectacular July 6 at Earl Adams Memorial Park, 8935 Breinigsville Road, Breinigsville. Rain date is July 7.

Concession stands open at 3 p.m. and WTAP TV personality Uncle Jeffery will begin broadcasting at that time.
