Francis C. “Frank” Kercimar, 93, of Allentown, died peacefully March 10, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, surrounded by his loving family.
He and his wife Isabelle C. (Burdock) Kercimar were married 71 years.
Born Aug. 29, 1925, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Vavrek) Kacmar.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Luella M. Kocher, 95, formerly of New Smithsville, died March 13, 2019, in Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown.
She was the widow of Earl Kocher.
Born in Weisenberg Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Athena (Rupp) Masters.
A member of Ziegels United Church of Christ, Breinigsville, she was a 50-plus year member of Kutztown Grange.
Her survivors include daughters Linda L., wife of James Fritch, of Mohnton and Christal J., wife of Lenny Witman, of Breinigsville; grandson Kurt Witman; great-grandchildren Kyle, Ryan and Darren; and nieces and nephews.
Ulysses “Junior” Conner Jr., 76, of Whitehall, died March 13, 2019.
He was the 54-year life partner of Shirley (Ruth) Conner, and the son of the late Ulysses Conner Sr. and Blanche (Bauman) Conner.
He had a huge heart and was always there to extend a helping hand to others.
He gave his all and excelled in his numerous professions: carpenter, corrections officer, county sheriff’s department, county constable, photographer and Whitehall High School security officer.
He loved collecting things and each year brought a new collecting adventure.
Dale T. Krum Sr., 83, of Schnecksville, died March 13, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He and his wife Bertha M. (Wirth) Krum were married more than 51 years.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Norman E. Sr. and Helen M. (Hertzog) Krum.
Before retiring in 1998, he was an assembler at Mack Trucks for 28 years.
Before that, he was an auto mechanic with excellent skills.
He attended St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Ruth R. Miller, 88, formerly of Allentown, died peacefully March 16, 2019, in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, Fountain Hill.
She was the wife of the late Bernard G. Miller.
Born Dec. 15, 1930, in Schnecksville, she was the daughter of the late Henry K. and Rose S. (Resh) Moyer.
She worked in the cutting room at the former Grief Company, formerly Phoenix Clothes, Allentown, for 22 years before retiring in 1995.
She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and Lutheran Church Women.
Joseph D’Andrea, 53, of Heidelberg Township, Lehigh County, died March 11, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the life partner of Brenda James of Fleetwood.
Born in Perth Amboy, N.J., he was the son of Carole C. (Graverson) D’Andrea of Heidelberg Township and the late C. Joseph D’Andrea.
A 1984 graduate of Howell High School in New Jersey, he was the owner and operator of JD Supply.
Patsy E. Prospal, 84, of Schnecksville, died Feb. 27, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
She was the wife of the late Richard O. Prospal.
Born Aug. 7, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Catherine Krull.
She was a secretary at the former Whitehall Development Inc. for several years before retiring.
Before that, she worked at Pepper Construction, Chicago.
Vernon H. Bailey, 91, formerly of Bechtelsville and Kempton, died March 9, 2019, in Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living, Boyertown.
He and his wife Dorothy S. (Stauffer) Bailey celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in April 2018.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Titus J. and Verna J. (Heffner) Bailey.
His mother died in childbirth and he was raised by his aunt and uncle, the late Earl and Irene (Bailey) Bond.
His twin brother, Titus H., was raised by the late Minnie and Howard Bailey, all of Kempton.
Thelma Dolores Schertzinger, 99, of Slatington, died Feb. 27, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
She was the wife of the late James M. Schertzinger.
Born Sept. 11, 1919, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Knute and Lillian Olson.
She will forever be remembered for her patience, kindness and loving spirit, and who enjoyed relaxing at the cabin and traveling with her husband.
Her survivors include her daughter Tanis Schertzinger of Ava, Mo.; and granddaughter Tana D. Krum and her husband, Travis, with whom she resided.
Edward J. Zuberka, 79, of Breinigsville, died March 6, 2019, with his best friend and wife, Pat, by his side in Lehigh Valley Hospital.
He and his wife Patricia M. (Beck) Zuberka were married 59 years on Feb. 27.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Henry A. and Dorothy L. (Foulke) Zuberka.
He was a printing press operator for Packaging Corporation of America, Trexlertown, for 46 years.
He loved hunting at his cabin in Potter county and fishing trips to Canada.
