Upper Macungie Township police allege a dog belonging to a 33-year-old woman from the 1100 block of Grove Drive, Orefield, left the confines of her property 4:45 p.m. March 22 and ran into a neighbor’s yard.
Police allege the dog chased after the neighbor’s cat, causing it to run up a tree.
A non-traffic citation regarding confinement of dogs was filed against the dog’s owner with District Judge Michael Faulkner, Upper Macungie Township.
Runaway teen Amy Yu, 16, has been returned to her mother, Mui T. Luu, and brother, John Yu, in Allentown.
Yu ran away on March 5 with Kevin Esterly, 45, of Lowhill Township.
He is awaiting extradition back to Allentown from Miami, Fla.
Luu spoke to The Press at her home on March 19 about her daughter’s return.
Her minister sat close by during the interview.
“I am very happy she is home safe and I know where she is,” Luu said.
“John is very happy Amy is back home.”
Luu said Yu was brought home by Allentown police 4 a.m. on March 18.
Caitlin McGarry, 23, of Schuylkill County, has died, almost 11 months after she was involved in a two-vehicle crash 7:19 a.m. April 26 near Dorney Park, in the 3500 block of Hamilton Blvd., South Whitehall Township.
According to Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim, McGarry was pronounced dead at noon March 17 at The Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital, Bethlehem.
An autopsy was scheduled for March 19 to determine the exact cause of her death, Grim said.
Upper Macungie Township police say windows were broken 10:30 a.m. March 2 on two houses in the 5400 block of Doris Drive.
One window was shot with a BB pellet.
The other had a brick thrown through it, police say.
Police say the suspect is described as a female in her mid 20s with dark hair, driving a white coupe with dark tinted windows, possibly a Hyundai Tiburon.
Upper Macungie Township police say a 58-year-old Alburtis woman and employee at O’Briens Moving and Storage, 7066 Snowdrift Road, Upper Macungie Township, reported being robbed 12:50 p.m. Feb. 27.
A 41-year-old Schuylkill County man has died eight days after his vehicle struck a tree and went down an embankment around 2 p.m. Feb. 7 in front of 1608 Independent Road, Weisenberg Township.
According to Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim, Christopher Angelo of Schuylkill Haven, was pronounced dead at 4:03 p.m. Feb. 15 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
An autopsy was performed Feb. 16, Grim said, adding the cause of Angelo’s death was attributed to multiple blunt force injuries.
He ruled the manner of his death an accident.
State Police Troop L, Hamburg, and Hamburg Borough Police, Berks County, are investigating the death of a 58-year-old woman which occurred 5:24 p.m. Feb. 17 at 402 N. 5th St., in the borough.
State police say borough police responded for a report of a domestic incident. Upon arrival, they discovered Suzanne Lenkiewicz, who was deceased, and her husband Gary, 56, on the floor.
Police say emergency medical services were dispatched to the home.
A 21-year-old South Whitehall Township woman was killed when her vehicle collided with another vehicle 9:57 a.m. Feb. 16 at 5341 Cetronia Road, Upper Macungie Township.
According to Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim, Emily Tomredle was pronounced dead at 11:54 a.m. the same day at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Grim said the cause of her death was attributed to multiple blunt force trauma. He ruled the manner of death an accident.
Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin announced Feb. 16 that a New York man has been charged in relation to a 2016 fatal multivehicle crash.
Gary Pellegrino, 67, of 44 Durham Road, White Plains, N.Y., was charged with one count each of homicide by vehicle and aggravated assault by motor vehicle, both felonies of the third degree.
Police in South Whitehall Township and Allentown are investigating whether three armed robberies on Feb. 12 may be connected.
South Whitehall police say at approximately 4:38 a.m. Feb. 12, several individuals entered the 15th St., A Plus Minimart, 1501 Mauch Chunk Road, South Whitehall, displaying a handgun and demanding cash. Police say during the robbery, the clerk was pushed to the floor by one of the individuals, who then removed cash from the register.
The suspects then left the store and entered a dark color SUV last seen turning northbound on Mauch Chunk Road.
