Gas range reported stolen

Upper Macungie Twp police say the property manager for Dakota Asset Management reported a gas range was stolen sometime between May 11-19 from a home in the 5900 block of Michaels Crossing.

Police say several tool sets and a Polaris ATV were stolen 10 a.m. May 20 from Faust Sales and Service Inc., 683 Grange Road, Upper Macungie Township.

Police say two drivers reported thefts from their vehicles between 5:30-6:30 p.m. May 24 while they were parked at Lone Lane Park, Upper Macungie Township.

Upper Macungie police issue fraud advisory

Recently, Upper Macungie Township Police have had several reports of Upper Macungie residents having packages delivered to their doorstep that were not ordered by the resident.

In these cases, the package had the resident’s address on the box but a different name listed as the recipient.

After the package was delivered, the resident was either contacted by note or in person by someone claiming the package was his, and there was a mistake in delivery or a similar variation.

Residents who called police recognized something did not seem right about the situation.

Police investigate burglary in Upper Macungie Twp

Upper Macungie Township police are investigating a burglary which occurred between 4-4:30 p.m. May 21 in the 1800 block of Becker Street.

Police say the male homeowner reported he was working outside his home when he was approached by a Hispanic male with short dark hair, standing approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall, who appeared to be in his late 20s to early 30s.

The well-dressed man, who had a name tag around his neck, told the homeowner his company had been hired by the township to cut down trees in the area.

New Jersey woman charged

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin announced May 17 a New Jersey woman has been charged in relation to an overdose death which occurred in 2016.

Meredith Corbet, 28, of 909 Adrienne Avenue, Greenwich Township, Warren County, N.J., was charged with one count each of drug delivery resulting in death and conspiracy to commit drug delivery resulting in death, both felonies of the first degree.

Firefighters train on RIT

Cetronia and Greenawalds firefighters trained on Rapid Intervention Team drills April 30 at the Troxell Building, South Whitehall.

The goal of the exercise was to bring Cetronia firefighters up to speed on techniques to rescue fellow firefighters in the event of a structural collapse, flash over or any unexpected occurrence at an active fire scene.

Greenawalds firefighters have been dispatched as RIT responders throughout Lehigh County.

South Whitehall woman charged with dealing methamphetamines

A 44-year-old South Whitehall Township woman has been charged with dealing methamphetamine as part of ongoing investigation into methamphetamine trafficking.

According to an affidavit of probable cause obtained from District Judge Jake Hammond’s office, Jamie E. Oldt of the 3300 block of Edinburgh Lane, was taken into custody without incident May 4 at her home by investigators with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

Carbon County man killed in Weisenberg Twp crash

A 58-year-old Carbon County man was killed when his car struck the porch at the headquarters of the Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society around 5:48 p.m. May 2.

The building, the former Zimmerman’s Hotel is located at the intersection of Werley’s Corner and Holben’s Valley roads, Weisenberg Township.

David Shaver of Lansford was pronounced dead 6:30 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said.

An autopsy was performed May 3.

The cause of his death is pending further investigation, Grim said.

Tools stolen

Police say several tools were reported stolen 9:30 p.m. April 17 from three Kay Builders’ vehicles while they were parked on Trexler Road, Upper Macungie Township.

Police say a 31-year-old male resident of the 900 block of Springwhite Drive, Upper Macungie Township, reported to them at 9:30 p.m. on April 17 several items were stolen from his home after a basement window was forced opened.
