The South Parkland 110-pound A team's season came to a heart-breaking end on Saturday when the Trojans fell 6-0 in overtime by the Lower Macungie Mustangs in the semifinals of the SYFL playoffs.
Both teams battled all afternoon in a hard-hitting defensive struggle. After a scoreless first half, the Trojan defense forced back-to-back turnovers in the third quarter on interceptions by Devin Yeomans and Ryan Zolotsky. The Trojan offense, however, was unable to capitalize on the resulting good field position, as it was stopped both times by the aggressive Mustang defense.

It didn't take long for Tara Huber to put a stamp on the Bloomsburg soccer program.
She played in 19 games as a freshman in 2010 and led the team in goals with nine. She also had four assists that year, and helped Bloomsburg reach the PSAC tournament finals.
In 17 games as a sophomore the next year, Huber tallied six goals and four assists.
"I came in and worked really hard," Huber said. "Once you get onto the soccer field, you don't look at it as if you're in different grades. I just had confidence and wasn't afraid of the older girls.
