Buffs soar past Hokey Eagles in SYFL

Josh Wagner and Ian O'Neill each scored a pair of touchdowns to pace North Parkland past the Eagles in the 125-pound game.

Wagner's touchdowns both came on punt returns as he took both a 30 and 50-yarder to the house. Ian O'Neill scored on runs of 12 and two yards.

Ian Haggerty also added a 30-yard touchdown run and Greg Santa-Ana had a seven yarder.

Christian Antry posted a solid rushing performance in the second half of the victory.

SPYA 110s blank Lower Macungie

The South Parkland 110-pound A team shut out the Lower Macungie Mustangs 24-0 under the lights at Mustang Field in a non-league game on Monday night.

The Trojans offense struck early when Vincent Gerbasio hooked up with Trent Perkins for a 64-yard touchdown pass on the second play of the game. On the Trojans second possession, JT Siggins took a hand-off from Gerbasio and raced 22-yards for a touchdown.

Upper Saucon 20

South Parkland scored 26 unanswered points in the second half after a sluggish start against Upper Saucon Storm.

In the first half, the Trojans moved the ball into the red zone three times only to score once on a seven-yard touchdown strike from Jake Yannes to Dante Strella on a 4th and 7.

Some offensive and defensive adjustments at half seem to do the trick as the Trojans scored on four consecutive drives. The defense also showed up and completely shut the Storm out in the second half.

Buffaloes struggle with Lil' Hornets

Emmaus 12 (OT)

Josh Lee's big effort in overtime led North Parkland to close win over Emmaus, 18-12.

Lee stopped the Lil' Hornets on the first series of overtime with an interception. He then came up big on the offense end with a five-yard touchdown run to win the game. Lee also had a 10-yard touchdown run during regulation.

The Buffalo defense also got involved with Bobby Carlson recovering a fumble and returning it 50 yards for a score in the second half to tie the game.

Mueller a team player at VCU

Whether it is pumping up her teammates after a mistake, or being one of the first to congratulate a teammate after a goal, Kayla Mueller has been a leader on and off the field for the Virginia Commonwealth field hockey team.

Mueller, a 2010 graduate of Parkland, has seen an increased amount of playing time her first two years on the campus of VCU. The junior is looked at as a leader and a great teammate.

Mazalewski making history at La Salle

Breanna Mazalewski's name is one you'll find throughout the La Salle University volleyball team's record books.

The senior libero entered her final season in sixth place in school history for total career digs with 1,041. While the number one spot on the list will continue to be occupied by Carolyn Judge with 2,080 career digs, Mazalewski's goal of climbing the ladder is happening before our eyes.

The 125s couldn't come up with enough offense to solve a stingy Panther defense in a 12-6 loss.

The Buffs only trip to the end zone came when Michael Ruisch found Adam Salvaggio for a 20-yard touchdown pass. It was North Parkland's second loss of the year.

Saucon Valley 12

Dante Medlar scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the Buffaloes past Saucon in the 110-pound game.

Medlar had touchdown runs of 24 yards and a yard to lead the scoring.

Buffs get weekend sweep of Allentown

Allentown A's 7

Joey Guida scored in all phases of the game to lead North Parkland to a 34-7 win in the 125-pound game with Allentown.

Guida got the Buffs defensive on the board with a safety and later added a 15-yard touchdown run. He converted three extra point kicks in the game.

Josh Lee scored a 10-yard touchdown and Ian Haggerty had a five-yard score.
